Welcome to Bush Babies

The bush babies sanctuary is one of several sanctuaries in a group of sanctuaries, including the elephant sanctuary that provides for orphaned and abused animals. Situated west of Hartbeesport Dam alongside the Elephant sanctuary it provides an environment where monkeys (primates) can be given their freedom in a natural environment. The sanctuary situated in one of the many Kloofs (Gorges) of the Magaliesberg mountain range provides the perfect environment for Monkeys from around the world.

From Johannesburg International - follow signs to Johannesburg

take N1 highway North
highway will split Pretoria/Johannesburg/Bloemfontein-Roodepoort - go towards Bloemfontein-Roodepoort
take Malibongwe Drive turn-off - this road also known as R512
follow this road North, past Lanseria Airport
at T-Juncation turn Left (signboards for Brits)
follow this road (still R512) past Peacanwood Golf Estate
turn right (signboards for Brits) to cross Hartbeespoortdam on a long sweeping bridge
turn Right as T-Junction
follow this road and turn Left at Damdoryn 4-way intersection
we are 2.5km further on the Left

From Pretoria N4 West to Hartbeespoortdam - This is not the new N4 to Rustenburg. This takes you to the R511

after second tollgate, miss first turn-off to Sandton take the next one to Randburg/Brits
head left towards Randburg - this will bring you to a T-Junction with a sign Midrand/Schoemansville
turn left - continue app. 2.5km - we are on the right

From Sun City take N4 highway to Pretoria/Johannesburg

take Hartbeespoortdam turn-off and turn Right at the Stop
follow road ang turn Left at the T-Junction
we are +/- 3km further on the Right

From Mount Grace Country Hotel

turn Right out of the road from Mount Grace's gates onto the R24 Magaliesburg-Rustenburg road
follow road for about 5km, turn Right, taking R560
follow ths road all the way to Hartbeespoortdam-Damdoryn, turning Left at the 4-way intersection
we are 2.5km further on the Left
